Here we have a couple of toys from Asahi Toy Company of Japan from the mid-1970s. These are some of the last cars to still use tin car bodies as most other companies had already switched over to all plastic models. As such, and with a few exceptions, these are among the "least old" exhibits we have here at MOBOTOYS.
Looking back at the cars these two are 90% identical with a few obvious exceptions. Look a little deeper behind the fact one has a "flame paint job" while the other has the Drag Racing Team and Sponsor graphics. Look further and you might notice one has a crazy blower / stack combo sticking out the hood of the Supercharged Camaro. Not only is this one bad motor exposed to all it actually "shakes" when the car is turned on. Flame Job Camaro keeps its monster power under the hood for grocery runs.
Both use identical frames and a mystery bump-n-go drive mechanism.
Special Note: We have many "better" toys to pick from to launch the museum, but I worked really hard on the 360 Spin photography (and resulting movie) and thought it was worth moving to the front of the line. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did making it ... serious fun fromt this pair of "fighters"
