"Hey Hey we're the Monkees..."

You only need to hear this 1960s TV series theme song from 'The Monkees" once to have it stuck in your head for life.  Pop music Genius!!!  

One of the coolest things about this band was their Pontiac GTO based custom built Monkee-Mobile.  One of the original custom cars build for the TV series recently sold for well over $300,000.

This specially produced ASC MonkeeMobile was based on a Pontiac GTO with all four members of the 1960s hit TV band "The Monkees" riding inside.  A front-wheel drive friction motor propels the car forward while a button in the middle of the seating area activates a battery-operated internal phonograph that plays a unique Monkees song that we cant find the title for and therefore believe this may have been a unique recording for this promotional toy car.   

Since batteries back in the 50s would have a linear discharge (they would only have full power for the first 1/3 of use, and go downhill fast from there.  To combate the issue of the phonograph spining slower as the batteries die, the designers cleverly included a slider Inside the battery box to adjust the playback speed (fast/slow) for optimal sound pitch regardless of battery state.   Of course you could also make them sound like chipmunks when set to 'fast' with new batteries inserted, fun for all :)

Here we present a near-mint version of this highly collectible car.  Everything is original including the guitars and drumsticks which are easily broken.   This car commands a high price regardless of condition as parts are often sought after to complete other incomplete survivors.
